Premieres: Tuesday, January 13th at 10pm ET/PT
Passion and expertise rule the kitchen on the fast-paced new series, Chopped. Hosted by Ted Allen (The Food You Want to Eat, Food Detectives), the series challenges four up-and-coming chefs to turn a selection of everyday ingredients into an extraordinary three-course meal. After each course, a contestant gets “chopped” until the last man or woman left standing claims victory. Each week, a rotating panel of culinary elite judges including Alex Guarnaschelli, Aaron Sanchez, and Geoffrey Zakarian will decide whose dishes shine the brightest and award the winner $10,000.

This show is too pretentious and theatrical, the judges are just nit picky on stupid stuff and not commenting on how the chefs should be more creative. They PLUCK my nerves. I would like to see more creative cooking and about the chefs themselves.I love the concept of the basket and secret ingredients but something is missing.
I agree something is missing, and I think it may be in the judging. Those judges piss me off everytime I watch it. They should have more guidelines, it seems like they will talk good about someones food, and then chop them!!?? The judges are condescending as hell. I would like to see a show where the judges have to cook, so I can see them all get chopped!!
Check out Top Chef: Masters on Bravo tomorrow night. Not only are these prominent chefs that you’ve actually heard of but many of them have served as judges on Top Chef and other cooking competitions. One of the chef’s on tomorrow’s episode is Food Netowrk’s own Michael Chiarello. Check it out!
The Chopped judges are such nit-pickers, their decisions just frequently don’t make sense. They are so perfect, I would love to see the judges as contestants, so they can show us how good THEY are. Judging them should be the two-time chopped winners.
